Mastering Crypto-Codes with Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) printers

Effective as of January 1, 2019, the Russian Federal Act No. 488-FZ mandates that 12 different product groups marketed in Russia, including pharmaceuticals, will require traceability serialization using a Crypto-Code no later than July 1,2020

The serialization can be done by RFID tag or by using DataMatrix Code, but implementation should not be underestimated, because Crypto-Codes have a higher data density, and thus require DataMatrix Codes with symbol sizes of up to 44×44 modules. Not only might this increase in code size require changes to product packaging design, it certainly presents an additional challenge to your current printing systems.

In order to print the relatively large Crypto-Codes optimally at a resolution of 300 dpi, Videojet has developed a software update for the Wolke m610/600 series. Thus, it is possible to print up to 90 m/min (295 feet/min).
